WhatsApp compresses videos itself and refuses ones that are too big to send as media. Compressing in advance keeps control of the quality and makes sure the video goes through.

Common problems
- WhatsApp says the video is too long or too big
- Compress it with the WhatsApp preset. If it is very long, trim it first.
- The video looks worse after sending
- WhatsApp re-compresses big videos. A file that already fits is changed less.
- Sending as a document
- Documents can be bigger, but the recipient has to download them before watching. Media plays immediately.
